A “process approach” is a key element of a successful ISO 9001:2008 implementation.

It requires the organisation to:-

  • identify key business processes,
  • decide the sequence in which these processes will be carried out,
  • make sure that appropriate resources (people, plant, equipment, tools) are available, and
  • plan, and where necessary, develop appropriate work methods needed to operate and control these processes (typically documented in Work Instructions / Safe Work Method Statements, Test Plans)
